The general premise of the card game is to be dealt cards adding up to twenty-one. Each player is given two cards. When a player is handed a nine or less and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace cards it is known as a hard hand. Once the cards have been handed to every player at the blackjack table, including the dealer, each gambler is provided the opportunity to make one of six choices:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a player says hit me the croupier will give him another card, if the addition of that card makes the total greater than twenty one the gambler will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to 21 the gambler is the winner and if the value of the hand has not yet reached 21 they are still in the game.

Keeping the hand you have been given: If a black jack player is happy with the cards they’ll hold. Once this has happened the dealer will reveal his/her hand and the player who has gotten twenty one or the closet to twenty one will acquire a win.

Doubling Down: A blackjack player might request to double down which doubles the wager they have laid. Once you have taken this procedure you can only receive one more card. The details of doubling down are often specified by the blackjack table or casino rules so before gambling make sure you’re familiar with the house rules. If you’re gambling at a web casino this is usually very easy.

Stay tuned for part two.
